Wow what a winter?...

I can honestly say that I did not miss the ugly, cold winters that Ohio usually graces us with this year. I cannot think of a more milder few months in recent times.

Yesterday we took off, what suppliers called, a clear plastic (actually not clear at all ) that protected our screened porch all winter. It was installed to prevent the cold harsh winter winds from making our home seem cold. While in years past it really did perform its job, this year it really didn't have much to do but obstruct my view of the backyard and all things going on back there. For example, I had no idea that all my crocuses were blooming until I happened to notice a peek of purple out back when walking by. I flew open the door and it all their splendor were beautiful purple blooms all over the place! It was then I knew that the plastic barrier had to come down!

The Mr. agreed and before long we were both able to view the purple blooms while standing on the porch looking out. Albeit, the life of a crocus bloom is not that long and will soon be replaced with the many other blooming bushes and bulbs so carefully planted. It's one of my most favorite times of year, watching the bulbs that my in-laws and I selected and planted so many years ago. Every year that they bloom reminds me of them and our times together.

The arrival of spring also means the reunion of me and that special lawnmower! It won't be long before we will be spending a lot of time together!
