The Campfire...

What is so intoxicating about the smell of a campfire? Not only its smell but its way of pulling you into a trance while watching the flames dance about.
A couple of years ago I was invited by a friend and her husband on a canoe trip with a cookout to follow. While waiting for the dark skies to descend upon us and the chill of the night air to allow for a campfire I became intrigued by objects being laid out to be used in said campfire. Unusual items I might add. A copper pipe, and pieces of an old rubber garden hose. Hmmm, I thought to myself, this should be very interesting! As the night arrived and the fire roared, out came the unusual items and then began the most beautiful display of a colored campfire that I every did see! It was a sight to behold!

It's always fun to watch the colors the hose and pipe produce.
