North Market

Many people I know keep lists of places they would like to visit or see in their lifetime. Many of those places are exotic destinations, or places far away. Among places on my list are locations right here in the State of Ohio, even the City of Columbus for that matter! One of the places on my list was to visit the North Market, a lively place nestled in the Short North area of downtown. I had read and heard so much about it I just had to get there! So with all the yard work complete and the day's weather not too promising I decided that this past Sat. would be a good day for our "field trip". We were not disappointed! The sights and smells, the friendly nature of the people, the delicious looking produce, and the fantastic lunch spots were all well worth the wait. We picked up some beautiful looking produce, and then had the task of deciding where we would lunch. After careful thought and consideration we decided to go with the place that had the longest line, figuring it must be good! Lac Viet Market, a small restaurant specializing in Vietnamese cooking. The dish Don and I tried was a bowl full of tender beef/chicken, rice, asian noodles, cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro and a bit of red pepper. It was sprinkled with fresh herbs and a delicious light sauce. We were not disappointed!
I am so glad that we spent the time to visit a fun and lively place so close to home! I'm just sorry that I waited so long to go!
