Fish Tales

It was kids fishing day on Poste Lake, Saturday June 13. Abby and Jake spent some time casting their lines from the dock but the fish did not seem to be biting. Jake caught a couple and then seemed disinterested. I picked up the discarded Barbie pole and had Grandpa bait the hook for me. I threw it in and came up with the "catch of the day"! I thought for sure I would win the fishing contest with the smallest fish caught only to be outdone by another fisherman down the way by 1/2 inch! My fish came in at 3 1/2 inches in length and his at 3 inches. I was so disappointed! Maybe next year...the guy from the Natural Resources Dept. said the smallest ones are the hardest to catch! Do I believe him or was he just trying to make me feel better?

  1. I agree-it's true. The smaller they are the harder they are to catch.
